Why a World Cruise Deserves an Expert

Months at sea means the decisions made up front shape every day of your journey. Here is what Darcy takes care of.

The right voyage

Every world cruise has its own route, pace, ship size, and onboard style. Darcy compares them side by side against what matters most to you.

The right suite

When a suite is home for months, its size, deck, and location on the ship matter far more than on a one-week cruise.

Booking-window perks

World cruise amenities and early-booking offers vary by line and change over time. Darcy watches for them and makes sure you receive everything you are entitled to.

Visas and documents

A single voyage can cross dozens of countries with different entry rules. You will have a clear plan for passports, visas, and timing well before you sail.

Flights and extra nights

Air, transfers, and pre- and post-cruise hotel stays are arranged so your journey begins and ends smoothly.

Support while you sail

If plans change before or during your voyage, you have an advisor who knows your booking and can help, wherever you are in the world.

Full Voyage, Grand Voyage, or Segment?

The full world cruise

Four to six months circling the globe. Many lines reserve their most generous world cruise amenities for guests who sail the complete voyage.

A Grand Voyage

One to three months exploring a region in depth, such as the South Pacific, South America, or Asia. The sense of a long journey, with a shorter time away.

A world cruise segment

One to three weeks on a portion of a world voyage. A wonderful way to sample the experience, or to combine with a land stay before or after.

World Cruise Planning FAQs

How far in advance should I book a world cruise?

World cruises typically open for booking two to three years before departure, and the most sought-after suites and early-booking offers go first. If a 2029 voyage interests you, now is the right time to start the conversation.

Can I sail just part of a world cruise?

Yes. Most lines offer world cruise segments of one to three weeks, and many offer longer Grand Voyages as well. Darcy can help you weigh a segment against the full voyage, including which amenities apply to each.

How much does a world cruise cost?

It varies widely by cruise line, suite category, and length. Full luxury world cruises generally start around six figures per person, while segments and Grand Voyages are a fraction of that. Darcy will walk you through current fares and what each includes on your discovery call.

What is included in a world cruise fare?

Inclusions differ from line to line and may cover shore excursions, beverages, gratuities, pre-cruise hotel stays, flights, or special world cruise events. Comparing these side by side is one of the most valuable things an advisor does, because the lowest fare is not always the best value.

Do I need visas for a world cruise?

Often, yes. A world cruise can visit dozens of countries, and some require visas or advance travel authorizations for U.S. citizens. Darcy will help you understand what your voyage requires and when to apply.

Do you charge a planning fee?

There is no planning fee for cruise bookings. Your discovery call is free and there is no obligation.

Where is Travel by Darcy located?

Our office is in Exeter, New Hampshire. We plan world cruises for travelers across the U.S. by phone, and in person by appointment.
