There is no planning fee for luxury cruises, guided tours, or hotel-only stays of seven nights or longer with no additional arrangements. Custom Italy itineraries that include airfare, ground transportation, curated sightseeing, or multiple destinations do carry a planning fee, which covers the time needed to design and coordinate your trip. Any fee is discussed on your discovery call, before any work begins.
A custom trip offers complete flexibility and privacy. A small-group or escorted tour offers expert guiding and simple logistics. A cruise is ideal for seeing the coast and islands without repacking. Many travelers combine them, and Darcy will recommend the best fit during your discovery call.
Ten to fourteen days is ideal for a first trip covering two or three regions, such as Rome, Florence, and Venice. With a week, it is best to focus on one or two areas.
Spring (April to May) and fall (September to October) offer pleasant weather and smaller crowds. Summer is peak season for the Amalfi Coast and Mediterranean cruises, while winter brings quiet museums and lower prices in the cities.
For spring, summer, and fall travel, nine to twelve months ahead is best. Villas, small-group tours, and small-ship cruises often sell out first.
